About Us

Herman since 2019 to present

Herman Textil Recycling manages two textile waste sorting plants in San Marco Evangelista (CE), where over 10 million items of clothing are carefully sorted every year thanks to the successful balance between automation and human intelligence. A job done with efficiency, transparency, and high ethical standards. The company currently employs 33 sorters, two warehouse workers, and two administrative staff.

Herman Textil Recycling is a young company (established in January 2022) but at the same time brings with it great experience and know-how. It is born from the meeting between Luca Cesaro, current sole administrator and majority shareholder, and two foreign sector operators: Ahmad Abo Khalil, manager of a chain of second-hand clothing distribution in Congo Brazzaville and Mali, and Grzegorz Michcik, owner of a large sorting plant in Poland. In HERMAN TEXTIL RECYCLING's team there is also another Luca Cesaro, a few years older, who has twenty years of experience in the field of used clothing sorting and is the owner of the company CE.LU.TEX.

"The objective of our union," says owner Luca Cesaro, "is to combine forces and experiences to give life to a unique entrepreneurial project, completely dedicated to supply chain control, internationalization, and quality cycle. Hardly in the international market of textile waste can operators be found who can gather such wide capacities and know-how. Our sorting work receives continuous feedback from the destination markets: this method gives us an extra gear on the commercial side and also allows us to maintain very high ethical standards. In fact, when a sorting is inadequate, the risk is that the wholesaler who receives the stocks in the destination country discards part of the content and disposes of it improperly.

The impact is even greater if the inadequate "bale" ends up directly in the hands of the retailer, because in addition to the environmental damage, a social problem is also created: often the retailers in the destination markets are vulnerable subjects, who manage to live decently from the sale of second-hand clothes but do not have economic margins or financial tools sufficient to withstand the impact of a wrong purchase. For an African retailer, buying a bale with inadequate content can be a drama. For these reasons, and exploiting our supply chain dimension, we have implemented feedback and complaint procedures that allow us to know almost in real time if the retailers are satisfied."

What does Herman Textil Recycling mean? The idea for the name came from Abbas Abo Khalil, Ahmad's brother. The company's partners are entrepreneurs who have their roots in family-run businesses: accustomed to working based on trust, they found in Herman Textil Recycling a new context of genuine reciprocity. Hermano in Spanish means brother.
